Thinking:  It May Not Be What We Thought It Was

This course is an overview of current research and thought on the human mind and how it works, including information from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and anthropology.  Research data and various theoretical perspectives will form the basis for inquiry and discussion about how our minds work.  Other possible applications for the information contained in the course are improved communication with others and enhanced skill at interpreting information from all sources.

Instructor:  Terri Clements Dean, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice with adult clients as well as consultant to mental health organizations.  Before moving to private practice, Dr. Dean served as clinical and administrative director for a private mental health organization and then for a large, multi-site community health system.

Location:  St. Peter’s Church, Room 201

Day and Time:  Mondays, October 28 – November 18, 10 am to Noon

Fee:  $50

Materials to be Purchased:  None.  All materials will be provided as handouts.  Book suggestions will be made but none are required reading.
