Course Description: This interactive course will explore numerous ways to achieve optimal health and wellbeing as we age. Participants will learn practical strategies to achieve a wellness lifestyle. This will be a holistic approach to wellness and will include topics such as healthy nutrition, weight management, age-appropriate physical activity, managing stress, maintaining positive mental and emotional health as well as personal safety and security.
Instructor: Dr. Heath Whittle taught at the university level for over 13 years before taking his unique wellness concepts into the medical and corporate world. He is considered a pioneer in the field of wellness long before it became more commonplace. As a university professor, his wellness related courses were very popular. In the public and corporate sectors, he developed and implemented programs in smoking cessation, stress management, exercise, nutrition, and weight management. He has published numerous articles. His varied career has included also experiences in managed health care, community health screenings, human resources, training consultation, and a private business owner.
