Course Description: What can you learn from taking a walk in the woods or on the beach? Deep Looking is an exploration of discovering more in everyday experience. We will begin with exercising the necessary engine of curiosity. We encourage personal and social interpretations (using individual knowledge and then learning from fellow classmates). We then move to asking questions as they relate to school subjects. The use of technology, the web and AI, will be covered to dive into more detail. Students will learn methods to foster and record experiences and question-asking and how to link questions to school subjects, and will present their deep looking research findings in class. Students will end the course with their own public web page gallery entry image and interpretations [for reference, see this instructor-created gallery: https://metaphorz.github.io/DeepLooking/ (best on tablet, laptop, or desktop computer).]
