Glimpses of Times Past and Times to Come – an introduction to a longer course

The objective of this short course is to have some intellectual fun glimpsing parts of the past and possible futures.  We will explore several essential issues:  Where did we come from; where are we going?  Through a glass darkly:  a complex, fast-changing, and variable-speed future.  There is no crystal ball.  What will determine the future?  Each session will include briefings and roundtable discussions.
