Heroes and Heroines, Magicians, and Other Interesting Characters: Exploring Archetypes

Course Description:  The term archetype, first brought to public attention by the Swiss psychiatrist, Carl G. Jung in the mid 1800’s, has found its way into modern popular culture via psychology and has been adopted for use as a self-help tool, a business management strategy, and within the field of literature and literary criticism. In this short course, we will explore Dr. Jung’s original use of the term and its subsequent translations and movement across domains.
