Course Description: This course looks at the history of Japanese imperialism and colonialism in East Asia in the 19th and 20th centuries and the ways in which that history continues to affect relations between Japan and its neighbors China and Korea today.

Instructor: Steven Ericson was born and raised in Japan. He has a PhD in Japanese history from Harvard University. He is currently Associate Professor of Japanese History at Dartmouth College.

Schedule: Wednesdays, October 11, 18, 25; 1:30-3:00PM
